As aircraft become more electric, engines become more useful and spacecraft tend to overcome new frontiers, the aerospace and defense industry requires fresh concepts from younger generations that grew up with a emotion for strength and creative technologies. Through the annual 20 Twenties program, the Aviation Week Network and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) identify young, rising stars within the industry. Top students working to resolve aerospace challenges are chosen by universities around the world, and a judging panel incorporated hiring managers, engineers and academics chooses 20 exceptional winners. Nominees are assessed who are based on academic performance, civic grants and the value of their investigation or design projects. Additionally reinforcing the significance of diversity in aerospace, this year’s group of students focused the requirement for fearlessness and perseverance in the face of failure. Winners betrothed with other students to advise, mentor and encourage academic resilience, comprising a student-run initiative at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology devoted to destigmatizing catastrophe.
