Don Lambert was awarded the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award. Since 1970, he has served in various maintenance and safety roles for companies like Airbus (then MBB and Eurocopter), Bell Helicopters, CJ Systems Aviation Group and Air Methods and Metro Aviation. Half a century in the field more than qualifies Don for the award, which recognizes the lifetime accomplishments of senior mechanics. As the first aviation mechanic in powered flight, Charles Taylor is credited with designing and building the engine for the first successful aircraft. Read more here.

The Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award is named in honor of Mr. Charles Taylor, the first aviation mechanic in powered flight. The Charles Taylor "Master Mechanic" Award recognizes the lifetime accomplishments of senior mechanics. Mr. Taylor served as the Wright brothers' mechanic and is credited with designing and building the engine for their first successful aircraft.
