A crash of a DC-8 cargo aircraft in Rancho Cordova, California that he investigated while at the NTSB was found to be maintenance related. A second crash in Nebraska involved a Beechcraft Baron that he investigated as a consultant, where he proved that the accident happened because of maintenance errors and not pilot errors.
