PAMA Award of Excellence

PAMA’s highest award, the Award of Excellence, is reserved for those individuals or companies who have promoted the tenets of professionalism and integrity on behalf of the aviation maintenance technician while exemplifying honor and diligence for outstanding achievements.

PAMA Award of Merit

The Award of Merit recognizes individuals involved in aviation maintenance who have demonstrated a high degree of professionalism in the performance of assigned duties. The Joe Chase Award (PAMA and Flight Safety Foundation)

The Joe Chase Award commemorates the late Joseph M. Chase, a maintenance technician who became the first director of what was then Flight Safety Foundation’s maintenance and equipment division and, in 1953, the first editor of the FSF Aviation Mechanics Bulletin. He remained in the job until his retirement in 1972. The Award honors an individual who has shown outstanding personal efforts to improve the knowledge of aircraft technicians and to inspire others to enhance aviation safety through self-education, improvement of communications between employer and employee, and recognition of the integrity and professionalism of the aircraft technician. The Award is accompanied by a honorarium of $ 1,000 supported by the Joe Chase Award Fund established by the family and friends of Joe Chase. The Fund is administered by the Flight Safety Foundation.

PAMA/ATP Award

The PAMA/Aircraft Technical Publishers (ATP) Award recognizes a PAMA Member for outstanding achievements in the field of aviation maintenance. This individual must be a voting member of PAMA, and be working as an aircraft technician who demonstrates performance which best exemplifies the theme: “Dedicated to promoting a high degree of professionalism among aviation maintenance personnel.” The Award is accompanied by a honorarium of $ 1,000 from ATP.
